It seems like every book I read, every conversation I have, every message I listen to God is continuing to teach me some of the same things. Here are a few things that I am learning right now:
- GOD is I AM! (Exodus 3:14) He does not have to explain himself.
- We are FINITE beings who cannot comprehend an INFINITE GOD. (Job 36:26, 37:5, Ecc. 11:5)
- Our human nature instinctively tries to SHRINK GOD DOWN into a box because we want a simple understandable God. (Genesis 3:1-7)
- We can easily be DECEIVED into thinking something is from God and is good simply because it meets a FELT NEED that we have at any given time, but in reality it is really FROM SATAN (God's enemy) and has nothing to do with God. (Genesis 3:6; Luke 21:8; James 1:13-16; Pr. 16:5)
- God will NOT SHARE HIS GLORY with any man or false religion (including some forms of christianity). (Exodus 20:3-5)
- People like to SURROUND THEMSELVES with like minded people in order to VALIDATE THEIR BELIEFS. (Luke 6:32)
- Many people WILL NEVER SEE God/Jesus for who he really is for many reasons. (1 Cor. 2:14)
- MAN MADE RELIGION IS EVERYWHERE and shows no prejudice toward religious denomination, race, nationality, social or economic boundaries. (Jer. 23:16; Mt. 24:11, 24; 2 Cor. 11:13-15)
- JESUS CHRIST LOVES ME and YOU! (John 3:16, John 19:30)
- Most people (including most Christians) have MISSED THE TRUE CALLING and PURPOSE of being a CHRISTIAN. Jesus is very clear about what His (and our) calling is. (Luke 4:16-21)
After I typed out this list I searched through scripture and found textthat addressed each one of these points.
A few observations about this list:
- Man has changed VERY LITTLE in the last 2000 years.
- God has NEVER changed - hence the "I AM"
- Satan is still up to his same, old, tired, yet SUCCESSFUL, tricks.
